It is absolutely critical that St. Francis Hospital remains a viable health care facility that provides quality health care to the people of Lynwood and the surrounding area.
While Verity is seeking bankruptcy protection for dozens of its facilities, we know that St. Francis is one of the largest and most profitable facilities it owns. The city of Lynwood has expressed its concern about patient care issues that have arisen at St. Francis under the current management.
We plan to be very involved through the bankruptcy process to ensure that St. Francis returns to its past reputation as a community-focused health care leader that is a true partner delivering quality health care to Lynwood and southeast Los Angeles County.
