Council Member, Edwin Hernandez


Edwin Hernandez was elected to the Lynwood City Council in 2013. He has demonstrated a strong dedication to the City of Lynwood and its residents. Over the past several years, he has happily taken on a series of new and difficult challenges for the City and succeeded at each one.

Prior to serving on City Council, Hernandez was elected as the Lynwood City Treasurer in 2011.  He brought more than 25 years of financial expertise, including his experience as the Vice President Branch Manager at Banco Popular, where he was responsible for working with public and corporate pension funds. He also served as the Treasurer for the Lions Club, Sheriff’s Advisory Council, Rotary Club, Greater Chamber of Commerce, and the Sheriff Clergy Council.

Hernandez graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and finance. He and his family have lived in Lynwood for the past 25 years.
