Illegal dumping in the City of Lynwood has increased dramatically in the past year and it’s keeping our Public Works crews busy. It seems as soon as they clean a large dump site, another two or three pop up.
This isn’t a problem only in Lynwood – it is happening across Southern California. Both Los Angeles County and the City of Los Angeles have experienced a rise in the number of calls reporting illegal dumping. And the problem got worse when the COVID-19 pandemic hit as neighborhood clean-ups and waste round-ups were cancelled while people were stuck at home cleaning out their garages and closets.
There are solutions and ways to properly dispose of your unwanted items.

All single-family and multi-family residents living within the City of Lynwood are eligible to receive FREE “Bulky Item” collection service, with a limit of 5 items per collection.
