Last week, Lynwood’s Public Works crews cleared illegally dumped items from 94 miles of alleys. The items cleared included furniture, appliances, bags of old food and trash and construction materials.
THREE Lynwood households were billed for the clean-up of items they were found to have illegally dumped.
Reminder: You will be charged for all clean-up costs if you are found to have illegally dumped items that the City must remove. Street Division will ensure all known offenders are billed and these costs include staff time as well as equipment such as tractors, dump trucks, etc. and additional dumping/landfill fees. Depending on the size of the loads, the costs can be as high as $3200.00 or more per each location.
There are solutions and ways to properly dispose of your unwanted items.
