The city’s Public Safety Department officers inspected motels along Long Beach Blvd. on Wednesday as part of its program to make sure that they buildings are up to code.
There are 22 motels in Lynwood, all of which will be inspected.
Rooms were checked for mold, working fire detectors, and other code violations.
In addition the officers checked to make sure business and health licenses were up to date.
Part of why the inspections were ordered by City Manager Jose Ometeotl was to discourage prostitution in the city. No prostitution or prostitutes were in sight during the inspections which will continue for the foreseeable future.
