City of Lynwood Recreation and Community Services Department summer programs are underway providing a full and fun filled summer for youth, adults and seniors in our community. We are now in full summer mode.
We also wanted to bring you up to date on the Burke-Ham Park playground construction project. The project’s contractor failed to perform in accordance with the construction contract. The City Council voted this week to replace the contractor.
“Quite frankly, we are angry that it has come to this. But we have moved quickly to get the project back on track so we can update Burke Ham for the benefit of our residents,” said Lynwood Mayor Jorge Casanova.
You will start to see work resuming later this summer. You’ll love it when it is completed. We will communicate progress.
The City’s popular “Movies in the Park” event, which has traditionally been held at Burke-Ham Park, will be moved to Lynwood Park this summer.
