Lynwood Residents – you have the chance to help your community by filling out the 2020 Census!
The 2020 Census results will help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding flow into communities every year for the next decade. That funding shapes nearly every aspect of every community, no matter the size or location. We’re talking about schools, roads, public safety and important programs for the elderly and vulnerable communities.
As of this week, nearly 55 percent of Lynwood households have completed the 2020 Census questionnaire. That’s good, but not enough – we need 100 percent participation. Every person in your household needs to be counted – regardless of age or citizenship.
You can complete the 2020 Census in the following ways – it’s fast and easy:
Return the form you received in the mail in March.
Fill out the Census online questionnaire: https://my2020census.gov/
Call 844-330-2020 (for other languages, visit: https://2020census.gov/en/ways-to-respond/responding-by-phone.html)
Respond to the Census takers who will go door-to-door.
A note about Census takers – they will visit homes that have not completed the Census. They will identify themselves as working for the US Census only. They will also carry a US Census ID badge with the US Department of Commerce watermark. If you have any questions about Census takers in your neighborhood, call 213-314-6500.
Here is more information about home visits: https://2020census.gov/en/census-takers.html
Please take the time to fill out the 2020 Census – your community depends on it.
And if you have already completed the 2020 Census – THANK YOU!
