As you know, the City of Lynwood and the rest of the country is in the midst of the COVID-19 Omicron variant surge. Last week in Los Angeles County, 209,605 new COVID-19 cases and 367 deaths were reported.
Here’s what you can do to protect yourself, your family and your community from COVID-19:
Currently, 71.7% of Lynwood residents five years and older have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine (Los Angeles County is at 80.6%). That’s good, but not good enough to protect our community.
Find a vaccine clinic at: http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/acd/ncorona2019/vaccine/hcwsignup/
In Los Angeles County, masks are mandatory in indoor spaces and recommended for crowded outdoor events. The CDC recommends N95 and KN95 masks and warns against wearing cloth masks.
If you suspect you have been exposed to COVID, get tested.
In Lynwood, you can get tested every Friday at the Lynwood City Hall Annex parking lot – make an appointment through https://curative.com/

Beware of Testing Scams
Unfortunately, some people are using the pandemic to commit crimes, including identity theft. Before you give ANY information at a testing site, make sure it is legitimate – check https://covid19.lacounty.gov/testing/
Legitimate testing sites will:
- NEVER charge you money (may ask for your insurance information)
- NEVER ask for your social security number
- NEVER ask for your immigration status
Let’s all work together to keep ourselves, our families and our community safe.
