Edwynn Barrios a 6th grader at Helen Keller Elementary School in Lynwood has been selected as the Kid Mayor for December.
Edwynn called the December 4th Lynwood City Council meeting to order with great enthusiasm. He told the City Council that he is “extremely thankful” to be named the Kid Mayor for month of December.
He will receive $400 toward his college education and will represent the City at various functions during the month.
The Kid Mayor program has been promoted by Mayor Solache in order to inspire more young people to public service. There are twelve elementary schools in the Lynwood School District and each school will have had the honor of having a student serve as Kid Mayor this year.
