Thank you to all who joined the City of Lynwood for the Fernwood Ave. Park Project Groundbreaking on Saturday morning.
California Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, who secured $1.3 million for Lynwood in the California State Budget, joined Lynwood City Council members Oscar Flores, Marisela Santana and Rita Soto and Lynwood City Manager Ernie Hernandez to break ground for this wonderful new greenspace and recreation area that will benefit our residents.
This is a project funded by the Rivers and Mountains Conservancy Grant, California Conservation Corps, Safe Clean Water Grant, and Prop C funds.
This project is on the southside of Fernwood Avenue between State Street and Beechwood Avenue. The formerly vacant land will be improved with new landscape and irrigation, park furnishings, playground equipment, a bridge, and will include offsite improvements such as curb and gutter, crosswalks, and street lighting.
