By day, Tyrone Pulley is a Public Safety Officer for the City of Lynwood’s Community Development Department.
During his free time, he is a champion powerlifter. In fact, he holds the California record for deadlift in his weight class (220 lbs), which also puts him eighth in the nation in USPA Premier Powerlifting Federation. He currently holds the deadlift record at 628 lbs.”Since breaking the record, I have gained more exposure it different areas. I have also received more sponsorships from various companies, but what I’m most proud of is the fact that I am now a motivator. I now able to help others in reaching their powerlifting goals.
Born in Lynwood, Pulley has been working for the City for more than a year. In addition to his duties with the Lynwood Community Development Department and competition training, he also serves as the Assistant Offensive Coordinator for the Cerritos High School football team.
How does he do it all? His answer, “I love training and eating healthy, plus staying strong and fit doesn’t hurt.” Pulley eats five times a day with healthy snacks between meals.
He is looking forward to September, when he’ll compete in a national deadlift competition. He hopes to break his personal record with a 700lb deadlift and a 392lb bench press.
Good Luck Tyrone!
