A 28-year employee of the Lynwood Public Works Department has been named the city’s Employee of the Quarter. She was honored at the recent City Council meeting.
Lorry Hempe was described by Public Works Director Sal Mendez as a positive difference maker in the city.
“She is a hardworking, dependable, extremely organized, and holds strong detail in everything she does. She remains a source of inspiration for other employees who want to get the best out of their job duties”
She spends countless hours contributing towards more efficient and productive operations including money-saving ideas, exceptional fiscal responsibility, and improving service quality.
In addition to managing the department’s operation an Capital Improvement Program budgets and overseeing the transportation fund, she continues to pursue grant-funding opportunities.
Thanks to her work, the department was recently awarded the competitive grant known as the Rivers and Mountain Conservancy grant.
