Lynwood residents ages 65 years old and older can now register for COVID-19 vaccination appointments, which will begin today, January 20. Vaccinations are free and there is a limited supply of vaccines available each week. Los Angeles County is the agency that is entirely responsible for managing the local vaccination effort.

Los Angeles County has opened five large capacity vaccination sites across the County:
• Pomona Fairplex, 1101 W McKinley Ave., Pomona
• The Forum, 3900 W Manchester Blvd., Inglewood
• California State University, Northridge, 18111 Nordhoff St.
• A. County Office of Education, 12830 Columbia Way, Downey
• Six Flags Magic Mountain, 26101 Magic Mountain Pkwy., Valencia
In addition to these sites, more than 75 pharmacies have currently registered to provide vaccinations, and vaccine allocations are going to large healthcare provider organizations like Kaiser Permanente and Providence Health and Services. Residents can also call their healthcare provider, who may direct them to a preferred location for the vaccine.
In addition to those ages 65 and older, priority for current vaccination is going to frontline health care workers, and residents and staff at skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.
St. Francis Medical Center has reported that approximately 1,500 of their healthcare workers were vaccinated in the first found and 800 were vaccinated in the second round.
The County predicts we will move to Phase 2A in early February.
In the meantime, please stay home as much as possible, but if you must go out, please wear and mask and practice safe physical distancing.
