In March 1924, C.W. Roberts was responsible for reorganizing new Lynwood Fire Dept. on a volunteer basis. It was hard to convince people to volunteer without a fire truck, so the City purchased a new “Suburbanite” fire truck.
Today, the Los Angeles County Fire Department has two stations: Station 147 on Imperial Highway and Station 148 on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
Thank you to all the first responders who protect our residents and our city!
