The Lynwood City Council approved the appointment of Ms. Michelle Ramirez as the City’s new Director of Community Development.
Ramirez comes to Lynwood after serving the last year as Public Works Director for the city of Rosemead. She has worked in local government for 28 years—all but one year in community development and said she’s enthusiastic about joining the Lynwood team.
She will succeed John Yonai who has been serving as Acting Director for the past year. Yonai, who will continue to work on special city projects, praised Ramirez at the Council meeting on June 19th telling Council members, “You’ve hired a good one”.
Ramirez will officially take over her duties in early July 9th.
