Electric Vehicle Charging Stations at the City of Lynwood achieved a milestone in cutting down greenhouse gas emissions. Over the past year and a half, electric vehicles charging at City of Lynwood charging stations offset approximately 22 tons of carbon emissions. That’s equivalent to planting 516 trees and letting them grow for 10 years providing clean air for Lynwood residents.
This accomplishment is the result of the City’s installation of EV charging stations with the help of Southern California Edison’s Charge Ready Program in 2017. The City of Lynwood was one of the first cities to install the stations and making them available for public use. About half of the emissions offset comes from the City’s Electric Vehicle fleet of six cars and two vans.
