In recent months, the amount of trash and bulky items left on Lynwood’s streets and alleys has dramatically increased. This means that the City’s public works crews must spend time and funds picking up the trash and cleaning the public spaces – time and money they could be spending on other projects that benefit Lynwood.
Due to the increased amount of illegal dumping, the City of Lynwood is invoicing property owners responsible for dumping. Several property owners have already received these bills which include charges for the trucks and equipment used to clear the area, staff time and the dumping fee.
If you have bulky items or a large amount trash, there are resources available to you. You can call Waste Resources at 888-467-7600 or 310-366-7600 to schedule a pick-up of trash and bulky items including furniture. This service is free.
If you need more information on how to dispose of bulky items or large amounts of trash as well as ways to recycle items in you home, visit Lynwood’s Environmental Page: http://lynwood.ca.us/public-works/lynwood-environmental-page/
It is up to all of us to keep our City clean. Please do your part!
