Due to the economic fallout of the COVID-19, the coronavirus, pandemic, the Lynwood City Council unanimously approved an Urgency Ordinance enacting a moratorium on evictions for renters of residential and commercial properties within the City.
“We realize that many of our residents and small businesses owners are financially impacted by this crisis,” said Lynwood Mayor Aide Castro. “As a City, we must do all we can to not only ensure they get through this safely, but also have their homes and businesses intact when we get to the other side of this.”
Last night’s Urgency Ordinance strengthens the previous City Council order on evictions issued on March 16.
The safety and security of Lynwood’s residents and businesses are the City’s priority through this crisis and beyond.
