The City of Lynwood unveiled the Time Capsule Monument at last night’s National Night Out event. The beautiful monument has a plaque commemorating the 2021 Lynwood Centennial with the iconic Lynwood Tower. It stands at the northeast corner of the Lynwood City Hall Annex.
The Monument was unveiled by Lynwood Mayor Jorge Casanova, Mayor Pro Tem José Luis Solache, Councilmember Oscar Flores, Councilmember Marisela Santana and Councilmember Rita Soto. They were joined by Lynwood Treasurer Gabriela Camacho and Lynwood City Manager Ernie Hernandez.
The items in the Time Capsule were collected during the Lynwood Centennial, which was celebrated last year. Some of the items in the Time Capsule include:
- A flash drive containing photos of Lynwood by Adolph Lopez
- Newsletters from 2021
- Items from the Time Capsule Contest award winners Lynwood Eyes and student Freddie Serrano.
One day this Time Capsule will show future Lynwood residents what life was like in 2021.
