Jorge Casanova is the new Mayor of the City of Lynwood and Jose Luis Solache is the new Mayor Pro Tem. They were selected at the annual City Council Reorganization last night (December 8).
“I am honored to have been elected Mayor of Lynwood as we begin our second century,” said Mayor Casanova. “Our city is poised for great things and I’m happy to be able to help achieve those. As we like to say, together we will make Lynwood great.”
Casanova has served on the Lynwood City Council since 2019 and served two terms as Mayor Pro Tem.
“Mayor Casanova and I are very energized to be on our City Council and to serve our residents,” said Mayor Pro Tem Jose Luis Solache. “The future of our city is bright and our residents deserve a city government that will continue to improve the quality of life in Lynwood.”
Solache was elected to the Lynwood City Council in 2013 and has served as Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem.
Casanova and Solache each stated that the city will continue to make progress to prioritize public safety, ensure fiscal stability as well as improve the city’s infrastructure, expand park and recreation programs and work to enhance the city’s business climate.
The Council reorganization meeting was also attended by many local and regional dignitaries including all members of the Lynwood School Board and Superintendent Gudiel Crosthwaite to outgoing Mayor Marisela Santana who served as Mayor during the last year.
