The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced that parks and outdoor playgrounds can reopen at the discretion of cities and the Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Department. The City of Lynwood is currently working on a plan to re-open its park facilities, which would be released next week.
The current Health Officer Order also allows the following sectors to reopen under specified timelines and restrictions:
– Nail salons can reopen as of Thursday, October 1 with indoor services at 25% capacity. Outdoor services should continue as much as possible.
– Waiver applications for TK-2 grades can be submitted beginning Monday, October 5 for in-person instruction. This is limited to 30 schools per week.
– Cardrooms may reopen on Monday, October 5 for outdoor operations only. Food and beverages cannot be served at the tables. (There are no cardrooms in the City of Lynwood.)
– Indoor shopping malls are allowed to reopen on Wednesday, October 7. Occupancy is limited to 25% capacity, and all food courts and common areas must remain closed.
As businesses and facilities reopen, please continue to follow COVID-19 safety protocols that include maintain social distancing of six feet, wear a mask and wash your hands often.
