Just last week, the Lynwood Public Works Department cleaned 44 streets, alleys and lots of illegally dumped debris and bulky items. That amounted to nearly 95 miles of alleys city-wide!
A sampling of the alleys cleared include:
– Martin Luther King Blvd. north alley Ernestine to Elm to clear debris and pick-up bulky items (52,000 sq ft)
– Platt alley at Ernestine to Gertrude to clear debris and pick-up bulky items (6,750 sq ft)
– Cortland alley at Ernestine to Gertrude to clear debris and pick-up bulky items (6,750 sq ft)
– Walnut alley at Ernestine to Gertrude to clear debris and pick-up bulky items (6,750 sq ft)
– Lugo alley at Ernestine to Gertrude to clear debris and pick-up bulky items (6,750 sq ft)
– Atlantic west alley at Los Flores to MLK to clear debris and pick-up bulky items (38,500 sq ft)
– 4200 Imperial south alley to clear and pick-up bulky items (3,000 sq ft)
Residents can help keep their alleys clean by doing the following:
– Calling Bulky Item Services at (888) 467-7600 for pick-up of up to five items.
– Participating in local alley clean-ups. These events are held periodically in specific areas.
– Submitting a service request to City Hall.
Keeping Lynwood safe and clean is an important job. It is also made possible by funds from Measure PS.
