We have been asked by residents about the city’s street sweeping policy in light of the Coronavirus COVID-19 situation.
As of today (Friday March 20th), your city of Lynwood will continue to sweep the streets, in order to assure health and public safety.
To mitigate the immediate situation, our residents will be allowed to park once the street sweeper on their block has passed their home.
If you are blocking the sweeper, you will be cited. But you won’t be cited if you are parking on the block AND the sweeper has passed.
Quite frankly, not sweeping the streets makes no sense at all.
We do know that without enforcement, our residents won’t comply with the rules to keep their cars off the streets that we are cleaning.
Let’s help each other out by making sure that we are complying–keep your cars off the street when our street sweepers are in your neighborhood.
Regular enforcement of the posted signs—meaning that tickets and fines will be issued throughout the posted No Parking period will begin on May 1st.
Thanks for your support.
