The Coronavirus (COVID-19) public health crisis is serious. It also provides our community an opportunity to take care of ourselves, our families and our neighbors.
Your city leaders are working closely with our colleagues at the Lynwood Unified School District and other Los Angeles County agencies to make sure that our residents have accurate information about this situation.
Even though Lynwood schools are closed, it is not a vacation. It is important that we, as a community, make sure our families and our children are staying at or near home during this time.
If you need additional groceries or supplies, by all means get them. If you do, we encourage you to shop in Lynwood and support our local merchants. Buy what you need–but only what you need.
The schools are going to continue to provide meals for our children. For more information check here.
And we must practice good hygiene. Make sure you wash your hands and don’t touch your face.
You’ll see your City employees working to make sure that our facilities and City stay clean and safe.
Also practice good social distance—we are reducing the number of public events to make sure that there are fewer opportunities for large groups of people to gather.
It is inconvenient, but it’s the smart thing to do.
While the coronavirus threatens all of us, it is especially dangerous for our seniors or people who have other medical conditions. If you know of someone who lives by himself or herself, check in on them by phone or email and make sure they are ok.
It is what we do in Lynwood–take care of ourselves and our neighbors.
That’s because WE ARE LYNWOOD.
