This past Saturday, the Department of Public Works staged a local neighborhood clean-up. The targeted area of the clean-up was in the two alleys east of Pope and Duncan Avenues from Los Flores Blvd. to Beechwood Avenue.
The City’s staff members assisted the residents in moving bulky items and waste as well as with the clean-up itself.
A total of four 40-yard bins (big dumpsters) were filled to capacity. Four dump trucks were filled and emptied 16 times. Staff also cleared weeds and other debris.
In an effort to curb oil dumping, City staff also distributed 40 used old recycling kits to residents.
Additional specific local neighborhood clean-ups are scheduled to occur in the future. Residents living within the local boundaries will be notified in advanced.
The City of Lynwood is dedicated to keeping its streets and alleys clean. Local neighborhood clean-ups are made possibly through funding from MeasurePS.
