18-year Joshua Murillo of Lynwood wanted to make a difference—a visible difference in his home city.
He was looking for a project that can help propel him to an Eagle Scout designation–the highest achievement a Boy Scout can earn. Joshua, who was born and raised in Lynwood, approached city officials and they all quick settled giving Mark Twain School Park a facelift.
Last Saturday (July 28) Joshua and a group of volunteers–including his mom and dad and some Girls Scouts from his sister’s troop– cleared away dead plants and planted new trees and plants in the park.
Thank you Joshua for all the work you did last week and good luck with your future—which includes being named a Marine ROTC Scholar at the University of New Mexico that he will attend this fall.
