To keep the City of Lynwood’s alleys clean, Public Works crews clean the City’s alleys on a 10-14-day rotation. This ensures that the alleys are cleared of illegally dumped trash and debris and weeds on a regular basis.
Last week, Public Works crews cleaned the following alleys:
MLK, Jr. south alley from Harris Ave. to Muriel Dr. – items removed included mattresses, carts and transient debris, ice chests full trash, an air conditioner and plastic bags containing food and personal waste (11,000 square feet)
11680 Wright east alley abatement Cortland St. to Fernwood Ave. – items removed included a lot of weeds, debris, construction material, furniture, clothing and food waste (9,000 square feet)
11677 El Granada alley from Fernwood Ave. to Cortland St. – items removed included tires, a mattress and trash, and a concrete safe (9,000 square feet)
In addition to the regular alley rotation, Public Works crews picked up transient debris from four different locations this week including Long Beach Blvd. at Louise Ave., Josephine St. at Lindbergh Ave., MLK, Jr. Blvd. and Harris Ave. and Atlantic Ave. and Cortland St.
