The late Lucy Avalos left a lasting legacy of tireless volunteer work and generous support of charitable causes. Mrs. Avalos provided invaluable support to numerous community programs and made a significant impact on the Lynwood community.
Opened in March 2017, the new Avalos Community Center offers recreational programs and activities designed to serve the Lynwood community. Programs include; recreation classes, facility rentals, after-school activities, camps, and special events for the community. For more information call (310) 603-0220, Ext. 325.
Instructors
The Center is looking for talented and community-oriented individuals who have a skill in art, dance, music, acting, martial arts, fitness, and/or related fields and are interested in teaching a recreation class for children and/or adults in order to best serve the community. Preference will be given to proposed classes or class types not currently being offered. For information on classes and presentations, please email: recinfo@lynwood.ca.us.

Program Hours: Monday – Friday 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. &
Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
