Are you an artist?
Would you like to try?
The city of Lynwood has long been known as a home to artists–and with that thought we are holding an art contest.
The rules are pretty simple. The art must be displayed on a 24″ by 36″ canvas and can be a painting, a drawing, charcoal, pencil, ink or other methods. The contest is open to ages 14 years and up.
Your art needs to encompass these four elements: Pride, Tolerance, Community and Equality.
“We are pleased to have this contest. We have many talented residents in our community and this contest will help reveal more of them and their talents,” said Lynwood Mayor Jose Solache.
There will be three prizes awarded.
The first place artist will receive a $500 cash prize. Second place will be $250 and $100 will be awarded to the 3rd place entry.
The contest opens today (May 15th) and will run through June 13, 2019 and will be reviewed by a panel of judges.
