The keeping of backyard livestock (chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, potbellied pigs, bees, and other forms of livestock) is becoming more and more popular.
Although keeping such animals can be fun, educational, and often can provide sustenance, they are prohibited within the City of Lynwood and possession of such animals is unlawful. Also, chickens, roosters, and all other forms of livestock present various dangers to humans which can possibly lead to the transmission of diseases.
In accordance with the Lynwood Municipal Code, the keeping or harboring of livestock can result in municipal penalties, beginning at $200 for each prohibited animal.
So as a friendly reminder, let’s leave all livestock to Old McDonald and his farm.
