Lynwood isn’t the only city with an illegal fireworks problem.
In the City of Los Angeles, the LAPD responded to 1,429 calls of illegal fireworks in the first three weeks in June – that’s three times the amount of calls received last year.
The City of New York got 80 times the amount of illegal fireworks complaints as it received a year ago.
No one knows why, but everyone is tired of the constant explosions that scare our children and pets.
As you know, Lynwood is not taking this lightly. The City has imposed a $5,000 fine for the possession, discharge and sale of illegal fireworks – each citation is a separate fine. Additionally, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Century Station has a special team working
As of this Wednesday (June 24), the Century Station firework suppression team has issued a total of 76 violations as well as confiscated many illegal fireworks.
