The City of Lynwood converted non-LED streetlights to LED to reduce energy costs.
In the Southern California Edison’s LS-1 Program, the City partnered with SCE to replace over 2,000 High Pressure Sodium street lights with LED technology. Since streetlights are a high utility cost for the City, the conversion of streetlights to LED fixture has provide savings of 195,000 to the City in terms of energy costs.
SCE started converting the streetlights fixture on October 31, 2018. The reduced energy costs and the increased lifespan of the LED streetlights will have a positive impact on the City’s budget moving forward.
