Even as much of the world was sheltering in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, work continued in Lynwood to improve the City’s streets and infrastructure.
You may have noticed Lynwood crews working and improving the following streets:
Virginia Avenue between Cortland Street and Fernwood Avenue
Bullis Road between Josephine Street and Cedar Avenue
Gertrude Drive at Woodlawn Avenue to the cul-de-sac
This week, a new project will begin on Brewster Avenue between Harris Street and Atlantic Ave. This project will include the following:
Removal and replacement of portions of concrete sidewalk, curb/gutter, driveways and curb ramps;
Removal and reconstruction of portions of street sections exhibiting signs of base failure;
Removal and replacement of portions of native soil as needed;
Grind and overlay with new asphalt of the entire street section;
Adjustment to grade all storm drain/sewer/utility maintenance hole covers;
Adjustment to grade all water valve can and covers;
Provision of all traffic striping, markings, curb painting, house addresses and signage
The City of Lynwood is committed to keeping its streets and infrastructure safe. As this year continues, you’ll see more improvement projects on our streets, parks and other public areas.
