Aide Castro was selected the City of Lynwood’s Mayor and Jorge Casanova was selected as the new Mayor Pro Tem at last night’s City Council Meeting
Mayor Castro was first elected to the Lynwood City Council in 2007 and has previously served as both Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem.
In addition to serving on City Council, Mayor Castro has also served on the Lynwood Block Grant Advisory Board, was a volunteer coach of the Lynwood Athletics Community Services, a youth sports organizer, a secretary and deputy woman’s director for the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and was a member of the Lynwood Latino Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor Pro Tem Casanova is a longtime Lynwood businessman as owner of Casanova’s Towing Equipment. He was elected to the Lynwood City Council in 2018. Prior to that, he served as the Chair of the City Planning Commission.
