In an effort to provide relief for residents challenged by the lack of parking spaces in their neighborhoods the City has established a program to empower residents to petition the City to establish Residential Permit Parking Districts (RPPD). Limited parking has created more than a nuisance for many neighborhoods.
Illegal parking can even be dangerous when cars are illegally parked in front of fire hydrants or blocking alleys making it impossible for first-responders such as fire, sheriff or paramedics to get access. Many cars park illegally blocking driveways causing an inconvenience for many residents. This RPPD program is an effective tool to manage on-street parking and promote public safety. The Residential Parking Permit District program allows only residents with the proper parking permit on their vehicles, and their guest’s vehicles, to park on residential streets.
To establish a Residential Parking Permit District Program please contact the Public Safety Division at (310) 603-0220, Ext. 271 to obtain information.
