If you haven’t notice on your visit to Lynwood Park, Phase 1 of the T-Ball Field is complete and on Nov. 1 at 5:30pm, the City is inviting you take part in the Grand Opening Ceremony of the new T-Ball Field.
T-Ball field will be used by the City’s Lynwood Youth Baseball and Softball Program (LSA-LYBS). The field will also offer a walking/jogging path and turf grass for multi-use: youth soccer, youth flag football, open space, and general events
“Often the first T-Ball experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals which is key to growing a child’s love for the game. Our goal is to offer a positive introduction to youth baseball & softball and improving the Tee Ball experience for players, parents, and coaches”, said Mark Flores, Director of Recreation and Community services. “We worked hard to make sure this new field will provide players with great experiences and memories.”
This project is $500,000 funded by the California Department of Housing and Community Development – 2016 Housing-Related Parks (HRP) Program.
Phase 2 of the project will included renovation of south (Hosler-side) parking lot, lighting upgrades and picnic benches.
We look forward to seeing you there!
