If you see a Lynwood city employee wearing pink today, give them a thumbs up.
Today city employees are wearing pink to bring awareness to fighting breast cancer which strikes 200,000 people every year.
Two-time breast cancer survivor Tootie Hollins will speak to city employees at a lunch time meeting at Bateman Hall. Ms. Hollins represents the Susan G. Komen Foundation which is the nation’s only organization that addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy.
The event is being sponsored by the city of Lynwood Human Resources Department.
“Bringing awareness about the importance of early detection and regular screening tests
is an important priority for us,” said Cynthia Stafford, Lynwood Human Resources Director.
