Even in the hottest days of summer, Lynwood’s Public Works crews are out in force, fixing potholes, sidewalks and other public places AND cleaning the illegally dumped items. To ensure that our alleys are clean, the City crews clear them on a regular basis.
Last week, four alleys were cleaned. It is amazing that people will dump instead of recycling, donating or properly disposing of their unwanted items. Here are the four alleys cleaned last week:
- Carlin Ave. south alley cleanup from Atlantic Ave. to Olanda St. – items illegally dumped included couches, large 30” round tree stumps, mattresses, bedframes, mirror, lawn size bags debris and loose trash,
- Brenton Ave and St. Emydius alleys – items dumped included recliners, couches, shower doors, dressers, wood shipping crates. bedframes, a 65” television, pallets, large bags trash, piles loose soiled clothes and debris,
- Fourth Ave. and Lavinia Ave alley – items dumped included a couch, playhouse, cat tree, three toilets and large piles boxes of trash,
- Borson Ave. alley Elmwood Ave. to Wright Rd – crews performed full debris and full weed abatement.
Reminder, residents who are found to have illegally dumped items on public property will be billed for the cost of cleanup.
