Illegal Fireworks Information

  • Illegal Fireworks Information

The City of Lynwood has a ‘Zero-Tolerance’ policy when it comes to illegal fireworks. This year we want to encourage our residents to help us keep the city safe this 4th of July by reporting any illegal fireworks with our Go Request App on your mobile devices. The app can be downloaded to any Apple or Android device.

To download on iPhone or Android:
– Head to Apple App store or Google Play store and type in ‘Go Request’
– Click download
– Once you open the App, select your ‘agency’ or city by clicking on Lynwood.

To report any illegal fireworks on the app:
– Click on ‘Illegal Fireworks’ icon
– Click on ‘Report Illegal Fireworks’
– On this screen you will be able to enter in all of your location information
– Click ‘Submit’ top right corner

The Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s mission is to ensure the safety of all residents, business owners and visitors to the City of Lynwood. Additional personnel will be deployed during the days and nights immediately preceding and on the 4th of July. Police officers have been directed to issue citations in the amount of $1000 for anyone:

– Using illegal fireworks
– In possession of illegal fireworks
– Selling illegal fireworks

There will be an issuance of citations for each violation so fines can add up to $3000 or more. Don’t take the risk!

The City of Lynwood has made it very well known about our firework laws through various media outlets and advertising venues.

All residents in the City of Lynwood can request or download a window card that proclaims you have no illegal fireworks and won’t participate in any use of them. If you know of areas in your neighborhood where illegal fireworks are being used, please contact the City of Lynwood Parking Enforcement division at (310) 603-0220 Ext. 271 or the City of Lynwood Code Enforcement Division at (310) 886-0450 or the Century Sheriff’s Station at (323) 568-480 for assistance. You can also download our ‘GoRequest’ app to report any illegal firework activity in your area. Let’s make this a safe and enjoyable 4th of July.
