Did you know that families with rental debt have 7 days left to apply for financial assistance from the state? The application for California’s COVID-19 Rent Relief program is closing after March 31st, 2022.
The CA COVID-19 Rent Relief program provides financial assistance for unpaid rent to eligible renters and landlords who have been impacted by COVID-19. This relief will not come if tenants with rental debt do not apply before April 1st. Send this email to a friend or neighbor that needs a reminder to submit their application.
Over the last 2 years, we have all made sacrifices to help each other make it through the worst of the pandemic. Motivated by the continued advocacy and organizing efforts of tenants locally and across the state, Governor Newsom stepped up for working families and committed to relieving 100% of the rental debt families had acquired as a result of the pandemic. Over 230,000 families in Los Angeles County have already applied but we know there are still families with rental debt who have not submitted their applications.
Our time to connect tenants in need of rental assistance is running out. If you or anyone you know needs support to fill out the CA COVID-19 Rent Relief application invite them to an upcoming clinic this month.
