Lynwood, CA – The City of Lynwood reminds you to check your pet’s license and make sure it’s current! If you need to renew or purchase a new license for Fluffy or Fido, it’s now easier than ever! Purchasing a license and attaching it to your pet’s collar is one of the most important things you can do as a responsible pet owner. Displaying a current license tag on your pet’s collar makes it easy for animal control officers and shelter employees to quickly locate a lost pet’s owner information. It could be your pet’s ticket home!
Remember, cats and dogs over the age of 4 months must be licensed with the City of Lynwood, and the City encourages pet owners to spay and neuter their pets. The license fee for spayed or neutered pets is $20 per dog and $5 per cat. The fee for unneutered or unspayed pets is $60 per dog and $10 per cat. Senior citizens age 60 and over may license their spayed or neutered dogs at a reduced rate. A rabies vaccination certificate including vaccination and expiration dates is required to obtain a license.
Licenses are valid for a year, but will not be valid beyond the expiration of the pet’s rabies vaccination.
